Zoom link is coming soon!

Check back at the beginning of May.

If you are one of my lesson families, you will get another email when the registration goes live.

A lot of the parents who email me about music lessons have described their kid like this:

“They love video games, they’ve played around with Garageband, and they have a keyboard kicking around somewhere. But I have no idea what kinds of music classes they would be interested in…”

In my work as a private teacher, I am interested in expanding music education beyond the boundaries of what is traditionally taught. I love seeking out students who are interested in music but perhaps haven’t found the right outlet in more traditional settings like piano lessons or band class. My goal is always to create student-centric experiences that put the focus on the interests and motivations of the student.

My main focus for music lessons are teaching music theory/composition (M.M. in Music Composition), trumpet (20+ years of experience), video game music (yes, video game music!) and digital recording technology. However, I also teach a wide range of music lessons including first time guitar/piano players, beginning band students, aspiring rock/pop musicians, and early childhood MLT music lessons. The students I work with tend to have wildly diverse interests and talents!

I am based in metro-Detroit, but due to COVID all of my lessons are currently being done virtually. Please get into touch to chat about rates and lesson info. I find so much joy in helping students illuminate their deepest musical curiosities and develop strong personal relationships through the medium of music!

Virtual Music Recital (Spring 2023)

My students spanning five time zones had a chance to come together as a virtual community and share their amazing talents at this music recital. From John Williams at the keyboard to retro video game music, the work my students created was exceptionally diverse. Take a look at the videos below!

Here is the short version of the recital that only features the students’ work:
