Climate One: Samples
Thank you for considering me for the position of Audio Editor and Producer at Climate One.
Below are two audio samples of my work as a sound designer and podcaster. These two samples were produced, written, performed, and sound designed by me.
The “Birds Episode” sample was created during my time as an Artist-in-Residence in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park, where I led a visitor engagement workshop that educated members of the general public about the relationship between music and bird song. Pay particular attention to how the audio separates into two fragments in the L/R speaker field to convey the two vocalizations made by a bird’s syrinx.
The “Sounds of Climate Change” sample was created as a result of my work as an elementary music educator. Due to COVID-19 closing schools in the spring of 2020, I adapted all of my episodes to a podcast format that I could deliver to my students virtually. This sample demonstrates my commitment to telling audio narratives in a compelling format that is able to reach audiences in a variety of age levels.
